7 Best Running Shoes For Women 2015

running_woman_sunsetFrom beginner to expert runners, we all have suffered from foot or leg pain at least once in our lives.

In fact, there is a wide range of symptoms associated with
running: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, runner’s knee, shin splints, stress fracture and so on. Most of us have realized the importance of proper footwear.

Because we know very well that shoes can prevent and minimize a large variety of injuries and health conditions, we compiled for you a list of most popular and positively-reviewed running shoes for women.

Instead of writing about each symptom and finding the best solutions to any type of injury, we asked ourselves… why not try to solve one of the main causes and prevent these pains from happening in the first place?

The solution is  most of the times found in the problem. Footwear is one of the main factors for various problems, not only legs-related but also posture/spine issues and overall comfort and mood. And women know that very well..

That’s why we consider that the best cure-all “medicine” are the shoes that we wear – especially when we talk about running, an activity that puts a lot of stress on our feet and joints.

So here we have it: a list of 7 best running shoes for women that we thoroughly researched and reviewed in detail.

During our extensive research and reading hundreds of buyer comments and reviews on the web we confirmed two important things:

First, shoes can be the problem or the cure for legs pain, depending on their quality and second, we found that some running shoes were even recommended by specialists to people who suffered from various injuries, to help them walk and recover. Isn’t that great?

Here we go..

Size –  The new toe box that comes with this model is wider and has a lot of cushioning, as reported by most of the buyers. However, there are some people reporting issues like “smaller toe box” or discomfort along with improper size. The truth is that the ASICS might vary in size and toe box across models. However, the recommendation to buy half a size up should work in most situation. If the size still does not fit, you can easily order a replacement.

Long-distance running – the opinions are split, some people love them for long-distance and highly recommend them, and some don’t. This might be influenced as well by the size you choose, since most people who reported discomfort also reported fitting issues.

ASICS Women’s GEL-Kayano 21 Running ShoeScreen Shot 2015-10-24 at 10.17.51 PM

Dreaming of the perfect shoes that make you feel like you’re walking and running on clouds? The ASICS GEL-Kayano 21 might turn your dream into reality. Whether you have flat feet or medium to high arches or health conditions such as plantar fasciitis, these shoes are amazingly comfortable and provide excellent heel and arch support and shock absorption.

Many people have confessed that these shoes helped them alleviate the pain caused by plantar fasciitis but also other health conditions such as stress fracture and knee operation! These shoes were recommended to them by professional doctors and they had very little or no pain at all since they started wearing them. What can be more convincing than this?

Compared with its predecessors (Kayano 20 and Kayano 19), this model features a larger toe box, for greater comfort, and is also lighter. Thinking about long distance running? They might be a great choice for that, as mentioned by some customers.

Overall, the ASICS GEL-Kayano 21 is really well worth the money. Some people are so in love with this model, that they bought multiple versions of it, from #15 to #21, as soon as they were released, and even the 2nd pair of the Kayano 21!

ASICS Women’s GEL-Kayano 21 – Other features and benefits

  • FluidFit multi-directional stretch upper
  • Heel Clutching System
  • Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL cushioning systems
  • Guidance Line flex grooves in sole
  • Moisture-wicking, breathable, antimicrobial Ortholite X-40 sockliner

Be aware.. & recommendations

The #21 is tighter and narrower than its previous versions. For this reason we don’t recommend these shoes for wider feet. If that’s your case, just take a look at the ASICS GEL-Kayano 20, the previous version and still best seller.

Amazon bestseller with lots of positive reviews. If not for the new version, the #21, we would have reviewed that one instead. Otherwise, just read on ..:)

For the time being, the Saucony Women’s Cohesion 7 still seems to be more preferred than its newest version, Cohesion 8. Will this change in the future? Only time will tell.

They’re good for medium to wide feet and provide decent support, but not good enough as some people have noticed. However just know that the sockliner is removable, allowing the use of personal orthotics.

No good for distance running

You might not like the style of the lacing system.
High arches – uncomfortable for flat feet

Our research has revealed that many of the negative reviews actually come from people who’ve been using Nike (or Brooks, Mizuno) for years, felt like experimenting with a new brand and got dissapointed. If you feel the same, here’s what we found for you.
